ELECTROCHEMICAL BIOSENSOR CAPABILITIES
The acquisition of Innovative Biotechnologies International (IBI) in late 2008 has expanded the capabilities of the Rheonix CARD™ by providing another option for results readout.
The use of the electrochemical biosensor (photo left), developed in collaboration between IBI and scientists at Cornell University, provides a number of important diagnostic benefits including but not limited to:
- Integrated electronic readout of results whereby the biological signals can be readily transduced to electronic results.
- Ability to further improve the sensitivity of assays by up to several orders of magnitude.
- Improved performance of diagnostic tests that rely upon immunoassay, molecular, and/or receptor-based assay formats.
