Advances in molecular diagnostics have created a demand for simple instrumentation that can perform a broad range of new or existing assays. Rheonix®, Inc. has met this demand with the development of a powerful platform—the Rheonix CARD® (Chemistry And Reagent Device) system. Developed by the Rheonix team of chemists, biologists and engineers to address some of the most pressing diagnostic issues in global healthcare today, the Rheonix CARD system provides a rapid solution to efficiently automate molecular diagnostic assays in a highly-controlled microenvironment.
The CARD system vertically integrates all of the components of multiplex molecular diagnosis -- raw sample prep, molecular amplification and analysis – onto a single polymer chip, enabling the manipulation of small volumes of chemical and biological fluids. The CARD system thus enables the cost efficient manufacture of automated, high-volume, widely-adoptable platforms that can be customized for multiplex diagnostic applications.
Rheonix pilot programs include immunoassay, pathogen identification, gene sequence detection, cell-based assays and other applications and have been validated through a number of academic, government and industry partnerships. Rheonix is now expanding the commercial application of the CARD system through new industry partnerships and collaborations.
